WILSON JROTC

Uniform and Physical Readiness Training

Uniform

Cadets are required to wear their uniforms once every week. Uniform days are typically every Tuesday and their uniforms are a major part of their grade in JROTC. JROTC issues out new uniforms to all of the cadets within our program. It is the cadets job to make sure that the uniform is kept clean, pressed, and that everything is sized correctly. The cadet will also be given a hand-receipt which will have to get signed by them and a parent. This receipt states that if any part of the uniform gets lost or damaged, the cadet will have to pay for that specific uniform part.

During Uniform Inspection, cadets will be graded on:
  • General Cleanliness (Clean Nails, Proper Hair Cut, Shaved Face)
  • Uniform Cleanliness (No Rips, Tears, Strings, Stains. Make sure that the uniform is pressed and washed)
  • Proper Placement of Awards, Decorations, Rank, Name Plate, and Patches

Physical Readiness Training

Physical Readiness Training (PRT) is an important part of JROTC. Every Friday, cadets will learn and perform exercises that are designed to teach them the importance of physical health and how to condition their bodies. Every PRT is graded by the cadet instructor who is leading the cadets. This helps to teach leadership skills to the cadets. Below are the commands that the PRT Instructor will use when teaching the cadets. Also, here is a list of Cadences that we use while doing our exercises. The PRT grading sheet for Instructors will be HERE. The PRT grading sheet for Cadets will be HERE.
