JCLC Information
JCLC is an incredible opportunity for selected cadets to go through. It stands for JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenges. It is a three day camp in Boswell, Pennsylvania. Cadets are chosen to go based on their leadership abilities, grades throughout the school year, commitment to the program, showing up for main events, and other contributing factors. The instructors are the ones who decide which cadets they want to go. Once the cadets are on the bus, it is a three hour drive to Outdoor Odyssey. Outdoor Odyssey is located at 450 Boy Scout Rd, Boswell, PA 15531.
Once the cadets are on site, they are joined with other cadets from different JROTC programs around Pennsylvania. The purpose of this is to separate the cadets from the cadets from their school, and to have them interact and get to know the new cadets from different programs. All of the Cadets from the school are separated into three different Platoons. They will stay with these platoons for their entire stay at the camp, eating with them, working out with them, doing challenges with them, and sleeping with them. During that time, some of the cadets will be give the opportunity to lead the platoon, and also be squad leaders within that platoon. The Cadets within leadership positions will also be graded by the instructor for that platoon.
Some of the challenges that the cadets will face will be communication, trust building exercises, fear of heights, navigational skills and other Army based exercises. Below are some of the pictures that were taken during JCLC, 2022.
