JROTC has a multitude of extracurricular activities such as Drill, Raider and Rifle team. All of our activities are after school on school days and all have competitions that cadets can participate in against other schools. Transportation will be provided by the school to the competitions. Time and dates for these events will be posted on the calendar within the JROTC Social Media and Calendar Page when we have received them. The extracurricular activities are a great way for the cadets to get to know each other on a more personal level, find and create new friends, and get to meet other people from different school districts. Cadets can earn awards and medals to wear on there uniforms for participating in these events.
Drill
The JROTC Drill Team focuses on discipline, teamwork, and basic JROTC knowledge as the cadets learn to march in a platoon. Cadets on the drill team can perform armed or unarmed drill during the multiple drill competitions throughout the year. Drill practices are every Monday and Wednesday after school in the JROTC room from 3:00 to 4:00.

Raider
The JROTC Raider team focuses on mental and physical activities. In raider you will learn First Aid Skills, how to assemble and disassemble a one rope bridge, and land navigation. Other activities that the Raider team does are executing the Army physical fitness test (APFT) and run a 3k. Raider practices are every Tuesday and Thursday after school in the JROTC room from 3:00 to 4:00.

Rifle
The Wilson High School Rifle team is currently led by the JROTC Battalion Commander, Dylan O´Brien. Rifle team is a great opportunity to learn how to fire air rifles and create lasting friendships. From firing, cadets can learn skills for handling stress, breathing techniques, and learning how to relax. Rifle practices are Monday through Thursday and Sunday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
